The Trusted Partner Network published a profile of the studio's Gold Shield assessment in June 2026: Building Content Security in From Day One. Future Associate is the only independently owned VFX studio in Australia holding a Gold Shield; every other Australian facility with one sits inside a larger corporate group. The TPN member directory is not public, so to confirm it independently, ask TPN.

Three Stories
Here.

An independent passing a standard built for corporates

TPN Gold is the content security assessment the major studios and streamers increasingly require of their vendors. It covers 200-plus controls across physical and cyber security, is independently audited, and has to be re-earned. Facilities that hold it in Australia are, with one exception, owned inside larger corporate groups.

The exception is a studio of this size in Marrickville. The story is what a small independent has to do — and spend — to sit on the same vendor lists as the multinationals, and what that says about who gets to bid on studio work in this country.

Everyone in one room, at a time the industry went the other way

Most VFX work is split across facilities and time zones. Future Associate delivered 500-plus shots on a single season of NCIS: Sydney, and 200-plus on Mortal Kombat II, with the artists in one building and no work sent out.

That is a testable claim and a real argument about how VFX is made: whether the distributed model actually delivers, and what a single-site studio can and cannot take on. Lindsay Adams worked at Weta Digital, ILM, MPC and Animal Logic before this, and will talk about the trade-offs on the record.

A render farm that runs on its own solar

Rendering is the energy cost nobody in screen production reports. This facility generates its own power and stores it in four Tesla Powerwall 3 units, running an on-premises GPU farm through Sydney's peak tariffs and through outages.

The whole system is in the one building and can be seen: panels, batteries and the render room. Lindsay Adams will walk through how it was specified and what it changes about running renders overnight.

Cleared for editorial use

The images below are Future Associate's own. Any outlet may publish them in editorial coverage of the studio, at any size, without asking us first. Use the credit line given with each file.

They are supplied at the resolution listed. If you need a different crop or a higher resolution, email the address above.

Not ours to clear

Frames, stills, key art and VFX breakdowns are owned by the studio or network behind each title. Future Associate cannot clear any of it, for any title, and nothing on our project pages should be taken as cleared.

Clearance has to come from the rights holder — the credits table above names which studio, network or distributor that is for each title. Tell us what you want and we will point you at the right publicity contact, but the approval is theirs to give, so allow time for it.
